Early in 2007 I was contacted via email by Maja from Slovenia. She was interested in purchasing a
blue female weimaraner. I told her I would need to research what was invoved in bringing her a puppy and get back to
her. After doing my research and learning what documentation the puppy would need I let her know what litter we would
expect her puppy from what time of year would work best for her and we waited for the puppy to arrive talking back and forth
on email and phone becoming fast friends. When the puppies arrived I sent her pictures via email and raised Escada here
beginning her crate training and potty training her to go on command for the 18 hour flight she would travel with me in cabin
aboard a Delta Airlines Airbus. ALthough I had already traveled with 17 puppies in cabin throughout the us and Canada
I had never made a trip as long as our Europeon adventure would be. Escada and I became good friends she trained easily
to her english and slovene commands also our first bilingual puppy! In May -2008 we traveled to her new homeland
- she did wonderfully on the flight and pottied twice in the airline bathroom on her pee pad. She slept most of the
trip we arrived passed through customs smoothly and met Maja and her family at the airport.
Maja took me to my hotel in Ljubljana the capitol of Slovenia - She went to her home town of Slovenj Gradec.
I did some site seeing in the city for two days and then traveled to Lake Bled to visit a castle with Maja and Escade (in
her country the puppy could go just about everywhere-even McDonald's on our visit to Austria. I then went back to her
home and stayed five very short days making many new friends. We had a tearful goodbye at the airport after just a week
with the promise to see each other again. I feel so blessed to have traveled to their country, been made to feel as
part of her family, and to have made so many new friends. I miss all of them every day! This page contains only
a few of the 2500 photos I shot while visiting such a beautiful country!
